A GAME CHANGER FOR CRAFT BEER WEEK
The organizers of Vancouver’s North Shore 2019 Craft Beer Week asked themselves how they could make this already popular annual gathering even more engaging for attendees and bring added value to member breweries. What if they created a contest to find the biggest beer lover in North Vancouver?
As a members of the BC Craft Brewer’s Guild, event organizers knew they could track which breweries the users of the BC Ale Trail app visited and when those visits occurred. With that information at their fingertips, they decided to create a contest that would run during Craft Beer Week to reward people who paid the most visits to breweries within Vancouver’s North Shore Ale Trail. It was a huge success. The North Shore Ale Trail had twice as much traffic than any other BC Ale Trail during the month of October – helping create even more momentum for the BC Ale Trail overall, and the BC Ale Trail app, which the BC Craft Brewer’s Guild Executive Director, Ken Beattie, calls “a game changer.”

Using the app’s reporting tool, the BC Ale Trail client can easily find which user collected the most points within the week and reward them with prizes.
The BC Ale Trail app is a free download in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
