B’ham Concierge App Promotes Local Business Community During COVID-19 Crisis
The Hotel Leo and Heliotrope Hotel launch curated Bellingham guide to reward local business patronage
Bellingham, WA, May 29, 2020 – Today, the owners of The Hotel Leo and Heliotrope Hotel launched B’ham Concierge, a curated guide to Bellingham that incentivizes people to support local businesses throughout the stay-at-home order and beyond. The free mobile app makes it easy to find establishments offering remote services, such as take out or delivery, and rewards engagement with those businesses.
B’ham Concierge allows users to collect points when visiting a location listed in the app. As people accrue points in their B’ham Concierge account, those points can be redeemed for discounts off stays at the Hotel Leo or Heliotrope Hotel. App users can also redeem points for entry into a drawing for a weekend stay-cation at The Hotel Leo in a waterview studio room. To help people navigate Bellingham businesses during the current crisis, the app can be used by visitors and residents alike to keep up-to-date on what businesses are open, what they offer, and when.
“In a changing business environment, the app can help Bellingham’s diverse business community get back on its feet.” said Peter Frazier, co-owner of Hotel Leo and Heliotrope Hotel. “To recover from this economic crisis, we must find ways to encourage locals to get out and support the businesses that urgently need their support.”
The B’ham Concierge app is a free download from the App Store or Google Play. Once users create a B’ham Concierge account, they can collect 10 points at each of the more than 200 locations listed in the app. Points can be redeemed for rewards at The Hotel Leo and Heliotrope Hotels and many other participating businesses. For instance, 300 points can be redeemed for as much as 15% off a night’s stay at each of the hotels. Individuals can collect points at each location once per week.
Multiple ways to support local businesses and earn rewards
People can earn extra B’ham Concierge points when they make a purchase at a local business. After making a purchase, if someone writes a post on either Facebook or Instagram, tagging the business and B’ham Concierge, B’ham Concierge will add 50 points to that person’s B’ham Concierge account.
The B’ham Concierge app was developed by local Bellingham firm, 468 Communications, whose 468 Insider platform is focused on creating economic growth by placing a value on presence.
“The Hotel Leo and Heliotrope are examples of emerging businesses that truly value community,” said Tim Fry, founder of Bellingham-based 468 Communications and author of The Presence Economy. “As our economy reopens, we’ll need to create extra incentives for people to re-engage with local businesses, and I think B’ham Concierge is a great tool for that.”
