CITY OF RITZVILLE, WA LAUNCHES SHOP LOCAL AND TOURISM APP USING 468 INSIDER
August 9, 2017 – Today, The City of Ritzville, Washington announced Ritzville Insider, a mobile app that rewards people for exploring Ritzville. The more places users visit around Ritzville’s Historic District and surrounding area, the more points they can earn and redeem for goods or services at local businesses. Based on the 468 Insider platform from 468 Communications, Ritzville Insider will be a free download in the App Store and Google Play later this month.
“With its rich history and strong community, Ritzville offers much more than most people realize,” said Gary Cook, Mayor of Ritzville. “The Ritzville Insider app is a fun way to invite people in and reward them for exploring this city’s treasures – from the Ritz Theatre to our Northern Pacific Railroad Depot Museum.”
The Ritzville Insider mobile app is a wayfinding tool for tourists and a way to reward residents and visitors alike for shopping locally. The app’s Explore button takes users to the map of Ritzville, which has pins indicating places of interest. Clicking on each pin on the map gives more information about that place. Locations around Ritzville are assigned a point value, which can be collected when one is within GPS range of a location. Pushing the “Collect Points” button while physically visiting a location will add the location’s points to a user’s point total.
Points accumulated with Ritzville Insider can be redeemed for goods or services at Rewards locations around town. At launch, Rewards locations include: Boxwood Home and Garden, where users can redeem 20 points for 10% off anything in the store; Ritzville Drug, where users can redeem 20 points for a 15% discount storewide; Uniquely Washington, offering 10% discounts on any item for 20 points; and Whiskey Gap Distillery, where users can redeem 20 points for 15% off any non-alcohol or non-pharmaceutical item.
